Day 26

The topic for today's post is your dream wedding. Since I am already married, I think a dream wedding is a bit out of reach for me. Honestly I believe that there has been too much emphasis placed on having a huge, ornate wedding and not enough on the actual marriage. Next week my grandparents will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. When I ask them about their wedding they don't have much to say about it, but when I asked about their marriage, they had so much to share. So I don't focus on the wedding, but on the marriage. Because that's what really matters.

Day 25

Today I'm supposed to put my Ipod on shuffle and list the first ten songs,
1. Mouth, BUSH
2. What It Feel Like For a Girl, Madonna
3. My Generation, Limp Bizkit
4. I Wanna Spend Christmas with Elvis, Marlene Paul
5. Boogie Woogie Santa Claus, Mabel Scott
6. Blind Man, Aerosmith
7. Drunk in the Morning, Kid Rock
8. Whatever it Takes, Leona Lewis
9. I'm in the Mood (to say no), Shania Twain
10. Bring a Touch, Jeanette, Isabell, Manheim Steamroller.
What does this list tell you about me? Well number one, I need to update my playlists, and that I let Jess put his music on my Ipod too. The only songs that I put on it are 2, 6, and 8! I guess I need to play around with it some more. I got a butt load of Christmas music this year in an attempt to force myself to not hate it, so there is about 150-200 Christmas songs on my Ipod. Those will have to go! Except for the Steamroller songs. I love me some Manheim Steamroller! I'm not much of a hard rock fan though, so those songs are from Jess. I haven't used my Ipod in a really long time. I really should start using it!

Day 24

Today I'm supposed to blog about something I learned. I have learned that breastfeeding does make me a better Mommy. Not better than someone else, but better that I would have been had I not breastfed. It has made me more conscious about what kinds of foods I will feed my son and has given my a great feeling of accomplishment. If I wasn't nursing, I would never have gone to LLL meeting and would never have met some amazing mommy friends. So I have learned that, yes breastfeeding does make me a better mommy, but not in the way most people think!

Day 23

Today's topic is something you crave. Well right now I have a serious craving for brownies. So there is a batch baking!! I crave many things... Love, acceptance, physical affection, adult interaction, SUN, spring time., warm weather, the opportunity to leave my house without having to bundle my Peanut Boy up like an eskimo, sleep, among other things!

Day 22

Today's topic is what's in your purse. Well, since I really don't carry a purse anymore I can tell you what's in the diaper bag! Diapers, wipes, snacks, a bib, toys, my wallet, keys, high chair cover, a pad lock, and an extra outfit for Peanut Boy. Not very exciting huh?

Day 21

The topic for todays' post is my favorite picture of myself.

I know that its not technically of me, but I'm in it!!! I just love this picture!

Day 20

The topic for today's post is nicknames. Most people call me Stef which is a shirt version of my name (Stefanie), but as for a nickname, I mostly get FiFi. This came about when my cousin was pregnant with her now 9 year old daughter. I was thinking about what she would call me when she got bigger and we came up with FiFi.  Now almost everyone calls me it. Or something related like Feef. Even Jess calls me it sometimes.

Day 19

Today's topic is something I miss. I miss many things, but today the thing I miss the most is the 9 consecutive hours of sleep I used to get before I became a mommy. Last night was a pretty hard night for all of us. Peanut Boy was up at midnight and would not go back to sleep, so I nursed him, which I don't usually do until at least 3 am. He fell back to sleep, but was up again before 2 am. Again I tried to get him back to sleep without nursing, but he was not having it. So I brought him to bed with Jess and I and attempted to nurse him back to sleep. Within a couple minutes he bit me! This is something that we have been dealing with for a couple weeks and I am at my wits end on how to make him stop. After he bit me I took him off and laid him between  Jess and I, and he got very upset, but calmed after a bit. Just when I thought he was finally going back to sleep, he headbutts me right in the mouth. Of course he starts crying and Jess has had enough. Jess took him into his room and tried to put him back in his crib, which was wholly unsuccessful.  I just gave up and took Peanut Boy into our spare room and laid down with him. I tried nursing him again and he bit me again, harder this time. I cried. Finally after 2 hours he did go back to sleep, but was up again by 7 am. So today I miss sleep.

day 18

Today's topic is my favorite place to eat. I think I have a new favorite now. Last week on our anniversary, Jess and I went out to Fuji Steakhouse. We sat at the hibachi grill and it was amazing! The food was delicious and watching the chef cook right in front of us was really fun. So for now that is my favorite place to eat!

Day 17

I took a short break for the weekend to spend some much needed time with my boys, but now I'm back and ready for day 17. Today's topic is something you're looking forward to. Right now what I'm most looking forward to is SPRING!! I can't wait for the snow to melt and the grass to get green. I am excited to see the flowers bloom and hear the bird chirping. But most of all I'm looking forward to taking Peanut Boy outside and seeing him discover the world!

day 15

day 15 of the blogging challenge is supposed to be a bible verse, but the only ones I can remember are Christmas ones! So I thought I would just write about today. This day is very important to me. This is the day that I married my best friend, the most wonderful man I have ever met. Three years ago today Jess and I were married on the beach in Kill Devil Hills North Carolina. We were surrounded by friends who cared enough to spend the first couple of days of the much need Spring break helping us celebrate out next step in life. The day started out with a nice breakfast prepared by our friends in the kitchen of the beach house we had rented, then the boys were off to do whatever boys do and the ladies started the process of "getting ready" Then at about 530pm We all drove the 1.5 blocks down the road to the gazebo on the beach. Our very good friend John had been ordained online so he could officiate. Everything was set and it was time for me to walk "down the aisle" I started up the wooden stairs, my hand on the arm of my brother and of course...whoops, I trip!! It was incredible windy that day and there was road construction being done nearby, so in out wedding video there is so much wind you can't hear what's being said! But you do hear the loud beep beep beep of the trucks backing up! After the ceremony we all went to a sea food restaurant and had dinner, then to a brewery to dance to 80's music and have some drinks. By the time we arrived at the brewery, Jess and I were exhausted, so after a drink or two and a few songs, we left to go back to the beach house. It was an amazing day, one of the happiest of my life. So today we celebrate our wedding anniversary and hope for many many many more!!

Day 14 ( I know I missed yesterday!)

I missed yesterday, but I am just going to pick up where we left off at day 14! Today is a picture of me from last year and how have I changed.

Well, at this time last year I was 30 weeks pregnant!!! So needless to say a lot has changed since then.  At that time I thought I was ready for motherhood and all that came with it. I was nervous and excited to finally realizing me dream of being a mommy! Since then I have actually been a mommy and love it! Most of the time! Now my life is not about me anymore, but all about the little boy who grew in my body and continues to grow with my love and guidance. I was so nervous about breastfeeding and not sure of myself. Now I feel confident in my body's ability to nourish my child. At this time last year I was just beginning to develop into a mother, now I am the mother I have always dreamed of being. I'm not perfect, or ever good all the time, but I am me and that's all I ever wanted to be.

Day 13

The topics for day 13 is goals. So I guess I need to come up with some goals. LOL. I'm really not the goal setting kinda person though. My outlook is life will be what it is. I have ideas about how I would like things to be, but I feel like setting "goals" is just a way to let yourself down if you don't achieve them. So, no goals for me really. My plan in life is to be the best Mommy, Wife, Friend, Sister, Daughter, that I can be and that's good enough for me.

Day 12

Today's topic is something you don't leave the house without. There are any number of thing that I can't be without, especially when I'm out with Peanut Boy. There are the usually accessories  one must have while out with a baby, such as diapers, wipes, bib, snacks ect. But the number one thing I NEVER go out without having is some sort of babywearing device. Right now I have several to choose from. I keep my Beco buckle carrier in the car at all times, as I find it to be the easiest to get on in the parking lot without dragging wrap tails in the slush. If I'm going to a place that has a convenient place to wrap, I bring my Natibaby Greece Red, which is super comfy and pretty. If I'm just going somewhere with a quick in and out trip I use my Sleeping Baby Productions ring sling, which I totally love!! All of my other carriers get used at different times as well, usually depending on my mood. And now a lovely photo bomb of my beautiful stash....

Day 11

Day 11 is all about my favorite TV shows! So here's a few of them!!!

Friday, March 4, 2011

Sewing Challenge Week 5

This week our project choices were ankle spats (which I have no idea what they are or what they are for?) or a blanket. I chose a blanket! It is just a little peek a boo blanket with silky polka dots on one side and snuggly yellow fleece on the other, and orange bias tape to hold it all together!

He pulls it off too fast to really get a good action shot, but I tried.

Day 10

Day 10 is about something you're afraid of. I am terrified of big semi trucks!! I get all nervous and shakey when I have to drive close to them on the road, and forget getting near them even when they're parked! I hate just being in a car that's driving past them.

Doesn't it look sooo scary!!! I've lived in MN almost my whole life, so I have seen enough semi's jack knifed on the side of an icy road to know they are dangerous!

day 9

day 9 is a favorite picture of you best friend, but i don't really have a best friend so here are some of my favorite pictures in general...
